Currently April 2015

I have to return from maternity leave for the LAST two weeks of school. Should be terrifying! I had a rowdy group this year but the last two weeks of school could turn even the most docile bunch into a barrel of monkeys. To save myself from drowning in the madness, I've been trying to come up with activities and ideas to keep the kids interested those final days of the school year.

Last year, another teacher and I joined forces to create a fun couple of days for the kids with our Minute to Win it School Edition. It was a huge hit and I will definitely be preparing for that again this year! What activities do you do the last weeks of school?

I'm also loving this linky! Check out what everyone is up to via Oh Boy 4th Grade by clicking the picture. Here's my Currently for the lovely month of April:

  1. Don't worry about the last two weeks of school. You'll be happy that you got a chance to reconnect with your class and say goodbye. Here is a fun activity that I do with my kids on the last day.

Take a look and see if you think it would work for you. My parents loved it because it kept the summer "I'm bored" comments at bay.

Enjoy your time with your babies!

  2. First, your blog is precious! How exciting to be home with the babies. You'll be coming back as I go out on maternity leave! At least you only have a few weeks before coming back home for the summer. Prayers that you can really enjoy these last weeks at home!

  3. How ironic--I'm in EXACTLY the same situation! I'm going to have to go back to school for like 2 weeks only after my babies are born. Which is so frustrating. I mean, I love teaching, but doesn't it seem so pointless to go back for just two weeks?! Don't worry; it will fly by, and then you'll have the whole summer with your babes. =)

    1. That's crazy! I thought I was the only one. I'm trying to stay positive although I do worry about my milk supply and GERMS! But you're right - summer is around the corner!
